Citizens from Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries – Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, and Ukraine – are invited to apply to participate in the 2017 Warsaw Euro-Atlantic Summer Academy (WEASA), which will be held on 2-15 July. Applications can be submitted until 19 February.
This is an exciting opportunity for up-and-coming policy analysts, experts, advisers, civil servants, private sector/NGO professionals and journalists from the Eastern Partnership region.
WEASA 2017 will be devoted to the issue of “Digital Community: Security, Information and Economy”. The program will introduce participants to the growing role that the digital component plays in security, information and economy in the modern age.
WEASA 2017 will offer an overarching understanding of digital communities through focusing on the following dimensions:
- digital media and related new forms of information sharing in the light of democratic processes;
- global digitalisation of economic sectors and the benefits of their development;
- impact of digital tools and methods on the information environment including counter-information operations;
- cybersecurity challenges for states and non-state actors.
The call for applications has also been extended to citizens from the Western Balkan region – Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, and Kosovo. Separate application forms for these two regions are available on the WEASA 2017 website.
